🏅Special Olympics of Georgia – Summer Games
We had an incredible experience at the 2024 Georgia Special Olympics Opening Ceremony! Our Cadets had the honor of participating in the torch run and witnessing the joy and excitement of the athletes firsthand. Cadet Lieutenant Mistretta and Cadet Sergeant Combs had a blast dancing with the athletes and proudly carrying the Special Olympics Flag behind the torch!
Each year, our Cadets dedicate their time to the Special Olympics, and moments like these remind us why. Just look at these smiles and the excitement these amazing athletes bring to everyone around them! 💙🔥🏅
We are incredibly proud of our cadets for their dedication to supporting the Special Olympics. Throughout each year, many of our cadets participate in events, volunteer, and assist the Special Olympics in various ways. Since forming their Polar Plunge team, “The Right to Remain Frozen,” in 2021, the cadets have raised nearly $60,000 to support the Special Olympics.

Thank you to everyone who volunteers and supports the Special Olympics!

From c/Lt. Mistretta: “It was such a joy to be part of this event and see the happiness on everyone’s faces as we danced together. I was honored to carry the Special Olympics Flag with Cadet Sergeant Combs and run alongside the officers and athletes behind the torch. This was truly an amazing experience!”
From c/Sgt. Combs: “The Summer Olympics Games Opening Ceremony was an entirely new and heartwarming experience. Spending time with the athletes and immersing ourselves in their world was incredibly special, and I am so grateful for the opportunity. One of my favorite parts was definitely dancing, it was amazing to meet the athletes, dance, and have so much fun together!”
