The Acworth Police Department established the Acworth Police Explorers – Post 4400 in 2007. In December 2021, the program transitioned to the Acworth Public Safety Cadet Program – Unit 4440.  On March 16, 2023, the Acworth Public Safety Cadet Program officially became a non-profit organization. The Acworth Police Department established the program within to develop leaders within our youth and encourage community involvement, academic excellence, and prepare cadets for a future role in public safety.

Mission

The mission of the Acworth Police Department Public Safety Cadets program is to provide young adults with a realistic introduction to law enforcement and to prepare them for a future career in public safety. The purpose of this program is to challenge Cadets to strive for academic excellence, give to their community through service, grow into productive members of society, and develop skills to become leaders. Finally, regardless of a Cadet’s future career goals, this program will ensure that every young man and woman will leave becoming a positive ambassador to the profession of law enforcement.
