Each Unit is encouraged to recognize one Cadet each year. This Cadet should be selected based on dependability, attitude, attendance, and contributions to the unit, department, and community. Outstanding Cadets are recognized for their exceptional performance and personal attributes.
The recognition is a blue ribbon bar.

The mission of the Acworth Police Department Public Safety Cadets program is to provide young adults with a realistic introduction to law enforcement and to prepare them for a future career in public safety. The purpose of this program is to challenge Cadets to strive for academic excellence, give to their community through service, grow into productive members of society, and develop skills to become leaders. Finally, regardless of a Cadet’s future career goals, this program will ensure that every young man and woman will leave becoming a positive ambassador to the profession of law enforcement.
